Letang Suspended

Brendan Shanahan has struck again. This time it is close to home as Defenseman Kris Letang was suspended two games for his hit against Alexander Burmistrov during last night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.

With nine suspensions during the preseason and two during the regular season, Shanahan has been busy in his first year as disciplinarian.

For the Pens roster, this is anything but good news. Already missing Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Brooks Orpik, Tyler Kennedy and Dustin Jeffrey to injuries, another loss depletes the Pens lineup.

With Letang out for tonight and Thursday’s games, the Pens have brought up defenseman Brian Strait who was impressive during training camp.

Hopefully no more injuries or suspensions will happen for a while or else Ray Shero might as well start bringing up the entire Wilkes Barre-Scranton lineup.
