Happy Birthday Captain!

The Messiah

“For the Hockey God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have a winning team”.

Happy 25th birthday to our captain, Sidney Crosby! Since being drafted in 2005, Sid has achieved what most of us can only dream of. Want to see?

  • Youngest Player to Record 100 Points in a Season
  • Youngest Player to Record 200 Points in a Season
  • Youngest Player to be Voted Into the NHL All Star
  • Youngest Player to be Named An NHL Captain
  • Youngest Captain to Hoist the Stanley Cup
  • Fewest Games Played by a Team’s Leading Scorer

And let’s not forget the Golden Goal he scored, which won the Men’s Canadian Hockey team the gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Because he’s done so much, it’s kind of easy to take it all for granted. Let’s remember that a year ago, Sid didn’t know whether he would even be able to play again thanks to head and neck injuries. So, while celebrating his birthday today, let’s also say thank you for the fact that The Kid will be able to play for years to come and we will be lucky enough to watch him.

So happy birthday Sid! Take a break from the training and skating to sit back, enjoy the company of friends and family, and have some cake!
